What stains do Bonita Springs driveways get?
Southwest Florida concrete stains in a few predictable ways.
- Green algae and black mildew: these thrive in shade and after the summer rains. They are the slick patches that make a driveway risky when wet.
- Orange or brown rust: often caused by irrigation or well water that carries iron. You will see it as fans of color near sprinkler heads. It needs a rust treatment, not just spray.
- Oil and grease: from cars, usually under the parked vehicle. Fresh spots lift more easily than old ones.
- Gray film and tannin: from leaf litter and palm debris that sits on the slab through the wet months.
Some stains fade a lot and some only a little. Old oil and deep rust can leave a ghost mark, and a careful crew will tell you that before starting.
